I’m a lawyer who litigates cases in courtrooms across Southwestern Ontario. I went to law school at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and I articled at the Department of Justice in Toronto. I have a diploma from the University of Southern California and a degree from Northwestern University in Illinois.

After law school, I worked as a federal drug prosecutor in Brampton. As a federal drug prosecutor, Karl gained extensive criminal trial experience and appeared frequently in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. When not in court, Karl often advised police officers regarding police investigation techniques.

In August of 2014, Karl became an associate lawyer at Kruse Law Firm; an elite boutique criminal law firm in Southern Ontario. It was at that time, August of 2014, that Karl, his wife Roxolana Toews, and their two sons moved to a rural property in Oxford County.

I am also a cellist. Prior to becoming a lawyer, I was a professional classical musician and music teacher.

​

I have been a resident of Norwich Township since 2014. I live on Cedar Line with my wife (Roxolana) and two sons.

​

I’m also a senior member of the parish council at my church and serve on the fundraising committee for my younger son’s school.

​

In 2022, I was a candidate for the Ontario Party in the Ontario provincial election.'

I was elected Ward 1 Councillor on May 6, 2024, and was sworn in on May 14, 2024. I look forward to serving you with passion and purpose.
